Picture of Muscles and Bones of the Human Body!

Bones

Bones are one of the most important structures that you have in your body. Bones are very unique because of their strength. They are as strong as steel but at the same time are nearly as light as aluminum. Antoni Tomsia is a scientist who works for the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California. the group that he works with is trying to produce an artificial bone tissue. They say that they want a strong, light, and porous material.

Bones are made up of a something called bone matrix. The matrix consists of 2 things: collagen and minerals. Now, Collagen is a flexible, thread-like substance. The minerals that are in your bones tough, hard chemicals that have calcium in them. Just like how milk contains calcium which helps build strong bones, in the same way bones contain calcium and that's how they have their strength. The Collagen and Minerals work together to make bones both strong, light, and flexible.

Medullary Cavity: Cavity that contains bone marrow and blood vessels. Red bone marrow produces all cells in your blood. Yellow bone marrow contains fats thats are being stored in your body. Medullary Cavity is surrounded by spongy bone and compact bone. Both types are made from the same kind of substances but the main difference is how the minerals and collagen mix together.

One of the cool things about bones is that as you grow, they grow with you! Did you know that children actually have MORE bones than adults? This is because as you grow older, the separate bones in your body begin fusing together and become one.

Endoskeleton: This is the sum total of all the bones in your entire body! Biologists think that the most important part of the Endoskeleton is the vertebral column.

The Human Endoskeleton is split into 2 major sections which are the axial skeleton and the appendicular skeleton.

The Superstructure of the Human Body

The Superstructure of the Human Body is very important. It's Superstructure is what supports your body and what helps it keep together.

The Superstructure is made up of three basic units: The skeleton, the muscles, and the skin.

Thanks for reading my blog...
You will learn all about the Human Body and how it really works. Below are some of the concepts that i will be covering:
